I. 政策声明

The use of social media websites is increasingly common for 十大hg体育平台注册 (“大学”) 部门, 学生和员工, and these communications tools have the potential to create a significant impact on organizational, professional and personal reputations. 作为对这些关切的回应, the 大学 has developed this 政策 and 社交媒体 Unit Guidelines and Directives (“Guidelines”) to assure that all 大学 实体, including 学生组织 and 组, 恰当地描述, 促进和保护这一制度, and to assist 大学 实体 in creating and managing their social media accounts. The 政策 and Guidelines will assure that:

  • Officially recognized 大学 social media accounts and web pages are reviewed and approved in advance through an application process.
  • Each social media account will have responsible administrators assigned.
  • Each officially approved account includes a disclaimer statement, 以订明的形式, regarding content and opinions contained on the site.
  • Prohibited content is removed by 大学 employees identified as account administrators or at the direction of 大学 Advancement and 社区 Relations.
II. 保单申请

Student organizations that wish to create social media accounts that will be officially recognized by the
大学 must be registered through the Marketing & 通信部门.

3. 豁免

This policy will apply only to social media accounts created by the 大学, 包括大学团体, 部门, 项目, 实体, 等. and will not apply to private social media accounts.

IV. 内容规定

  1. 大学 employees must adhere to same standards of conduct online as they would in the workplace. Laws and policies respecting contracting and conflicts of interest, as well as applicable policies and guidelines for interacting with students, 父母, 校友, 捐助者, media and other 大学 constituents apply online and in the social media context just as they do in personal interactions. Employees are fully responsible for what they post to social media sites.
  2. A user shall not represent or lead another to believe that the user’s personal opinions are endorsed by the 大学 or any of its organizations, and the use of the 大学’s name or marks in connection with the expression of personal opinions is prohibited.
  3. Content on college sites that: (a) violates copyright law; (b) is defamatory, 淫秽, or threatening; (c) constitutes stalking or unlawful harassment; (d) violates federal, 州或地方法律, 或(e)违反学校政策, 包括  Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources 政策 或者是 Equal Opportunity/Non-Discrimination, 反骚扰, 第九条, 残疾的住宿, Anti-Fraud and Non-Retaliation/Whistleblower 政策,是明确禁止的。.

  5. Content shall not disclose confidential information concerning current or former 大学 employees or students
  6. Content shall not include proprietary information of the 大学.
  7. Content on college sites shall not support or advocate for or against any political issue, 导致, 政党或候选人.
  8. Content on college sites shall not market, 做广告, 促进, endorse or sell any personal business, 产品, 服务或利益.
  9. Any substantive error shall be transparently corrected as soon as possible after the error has been recognized.
  10. Administrators may contact the 大学’s Marketing & 通信部门 或者是 Office of General Counsel at any time for consultation.

V. 违反政策

The 大学 shall have the right to review content posted to any site maintained in the name of the 大学, and may remove or 导致 the removal of any content that violates the 政策 or Guidelines, 或联邦, 州或地方法律.

The 大学 may block posts of users that violate this 政策 or Guidelines, or restrict or deny a violator’s access to 大学 sites. 大学 students or employees who violate this 政策 or Guidelines may also be subject to additional 大学 discipline.
