Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA)

Macomb IDEA Statement

Macomb Community College’s mission is to transform lives through the power of education, enrichment
and economic development. As a trusted educational and community partner in Macomb County, it is
our responsibility to strive to be leaders in the work of inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA). To
truly deliver on this mission, we must create and maintain a culture in which each member of our
college community is supported in being their most authentic self and succeeding academically,
professionally and in society.

IDEA Council

The IDEA Council is dedicated to creating and maintaining a culture in which each member of our college community is supported in being their most authentic self and succeeding academically, professionally and in society.

Macomb Multicultural International Initiatives (MMII)

Macomb Multicultural International Initiatives (MMII)

MMII promotes multicultural understanding and acceptance through several free events for students and staff throughout the year.  It also encourages students to explore different cultures by providing a study abroad stipend to help offset the cost of international travel.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a national observance and the most encompassing service-learning project at the college. On the second Monday of each January, hundreds of staff and students volunteer in the community in tribute to the selfless legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
