I would recommend Macomb to anyone, but veterans especially. People at Macomb really want to make it a better school for veterans, and it shows.”

Obtaining Your Military Transcript

Macomb, like other colleges, awards credit for your military service.  But, first you need to request your military transcript and have it sent to our Records and Registration Office. The submission of your military transcript sometimes limits options related to financial aid eligibility, flexibility of transfer course choices, etc. If you plan to transfer to another school for a bachelor’s degree, talk to us before you submit this transcript.

To request your Joint Services Transcript (JST) or other military transcripts, log in and create an account, then request an official transcript be sent to Macomb Community College in Warren, MI.

The American Council on Education is an important resource for information on how to obtain and understand your military education credit, including CLEP examinations, JST, and DANTES.

Free Emergency Financial Assistance for Veterans and Service Members:

Thanks to generous donations, free funding is available for veterans, service members and their immediate family members to reduce barriers to their education:

  • Textbooks and Classroom Supplies
  • Travel and Transportation Expenses (e.g. fuel costs, car repairs, bus passes)
  • Living Expenses (e.g. food costs, utility bills, childcare, interview attire, hygiene needs)

Application process:

  • Fill out the confidential Intake Form and submit to Student Options for Success (SOS).
  • Veteran and Military Services (VMS) and/or SOS will follow up to discuss needs and possible awards.

For more information, please email Veteran Services.

Priority of Service for Qualified Job Training Programs

Macomb Community College provides “priority of service” for eligible veterans and their spouses with respect to job training programs funded in whole or in part by federal funds, as required by 20 CFR 1010.100-1010.330; or departmental guidance, as a condition for receiving Department of Labor (DOL) job training program funds.

“My brakes went out on my car and I had to borrow money to get them fixed. Veterans Services helped me get the funds to pay off my debt. I have told two other veterans about Macomb.”
