Political Science

Politics Explained

The political spectrum

Politics is a social science and can be studied and understood in the same way as anthropology or economics.

Left or right? Centrist or radical? Conservative or libertarian?

These are terms you’ll be introduced to in our courses as you’re led through an objective analysis of how the political system works in the U.S., as well as in a few other countries.

Political Science

Draw your own conclusions

Our faculty are political scientists who have spent their careers studying the workings of politics.

They’ll share their insight with you and encourage you to draw your own conclusions.

You’ll learn about:

  • Local and state government
  • Policymaking processes
  • Metropolitan and suburban politics
  • Media influence
  • International relations
  • And much more!

For a look at our courses and their descriptions, visit the College Catalog.

Most bachelor’s degree programs require a course or two in political science, and credits earned in our courses transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
